Artist Bio

I am a painter and mixed‑media artist whose work grows from a deep, tactile relationship with the natural world. When I unplug and explore, I discover small bits of beauty often hidden or overlooked. I love collecting elements that have fallen to the forest floor or washed ashore, especially lichen and driftwood, and incorporate their textures into abstract paintings.

My work is an abstract exploration of feeling, where color becomes language and texture becomes emotion. Many pieces begin with a haiku I have written to capture a moment of emotional truth, with the resulting painting serving as a visual echo of that poem. Through this practice, I use art to navigate the tension between self‑confidence and self‑despair; a reflection of living actively with an unpredictable disability that affects every step, movement, and moment of my day. And for reasons I can’t fully explain, I am endlessly drawn to the color blue.
